LUKE WHITE ‘Outside In’

Strongwire Records 2012

Luke White has previously released an EP and this is his debut album, where bar the bass and drums he plays all the instruments on the album. He also engineers andand produces the album. Despite having eleven songs (two are short instrumentals) it is a very short album as well, clocking in at less than forty minutes but not a moment is wasted.

‘Black Market Red Roses’ features an enticing backbeat and the soothing vocals of Luke White. I’ve tried hard to think who he sounds like and the nearest I can get is James Blunt fronting Coldplay! Mind you ‘Made Of Love’ is a lovely tune and sounds nothing like those two aforementioned artists. The album as a whole has a laid back feel, although ‘She’s A Dancer’ does see the tempo rise slightly. There is a nice positive song ‘Don’t Be Worried (Light Will Find You)’ to end the album on a high note.

Strong and enjoyable debut album with songs made for radio and enjoying over and over.
