Scots rockers Peepshow are about to release this , their debut album, on an unsuspecting world . The band have picked up a few notable support slots playing along with Backyard Babies, Crashdiet and Duff Mckagen’s Loaded and listening to this CD you could imagine that they held their own no problem in such illustrious company.
The band have adopted a look akin to the Black Veil Brides and sound wise there is more than a nod in that direction as well with goth tinged, Motley Crue like melodies throughout. The opening volley of ‘Let Go’, ‘Live Free Or Die’ and ‘Trouble’ is a very impressive start and vocalist Johnny Gunn excels from the opening bars. The twin guitar playing of Rusty Gill and Dagan is the key to the bands delivery with fantastic lead and rhythm work on all tracks.
There really isn’t a bad track on this album, whether the guys are rocking out ‘Crue’ style as on ‘Waking The Dead’ or in full on, lighters aloft ballad mode with ‘Irreversible’ they take it all in their stride. With the right promotion and more of those big name support slots I could see this lot making into the bigger leagues sooner rather than later.
Peepshow, definitely one to watch.
