Fiend Forge (Release Date – Out now)
The Fright have created yet another genre which they call ‘horrock ‘n’ roll’ and looking at some of the song titles including ‘666 Full Speed Ahead’ and ‘Nightstalker Returns’ you can see where they are coming from.
Musically though the band are nothing to shout about. Decent hard rock, competently played with horror influenced lyrics throughout. There are some tracks that stand out from the crowd, the afore mentioned ‘666 Full Speed Ahead’ and ‘Avenger Of Crow’ are both tracks that would stand repeated plays. The others though are fairly forgettable and won’t have you knocking on your coffin lid for more.
Overall then not one I would rush back to, perhaps that’s why they created their own genre, no competition for that top spot.
