Album Review – ROXIN’ PALACE – Roxin’ Palace

SAOL (Release date – out now)

Sleaze rockers Roxin’ Palace only formed last year in Italy but have already managed to write and record this 10 track album. The standard of the songs on offer and the playing is impressive given the relatively short time the band has been together. Taking their cues from the likes of Skid Row and Motley Crue, the Italian rockers produce hard and heavy tracks with great melodies and harmonies. They could hail from LA rather than Vajont, only the accent of singer Axel gives it away.

Song wise the album contains 10 tracks which all merit a listen. They may not be the most original tracks, pick any album from LA in the late 80’s and you will get the same, but they are well played and put together. On occasion it doesn’t quite gel as on ‘Empty Virus’ where they appear to sing out of key throughout the song. Mostly though they prove themselves to be a decent rocking outfit which, if I found them as a support band I would no doubt enjoy.

Not essential listening perhaps but worth a spin, especially if you rate Skid Row.
