EP review: FLORIDA ROOM – After The Autumn Hours

Florida Room - After The Autumn Hours

www.floridaroom.co.uk [Release date 09.09.13]

There is something highly engaging about this EP from East London’s Florida Room.  Together in their present form for barely twelve months this is effectively a re-promotion of their debut EP.

The music is infectious, melodic, and anything that provides respite from the current garage/classic rock vogue has to be welcomed.

The band specialise in layered vocal harmonies, with Jelle’s Ijsbrandy’s chiming guitar figures a feature and Michael Perera’s  introspective vocals.

The lead track ‘My White Room Verses’ demonstrates their way with building a vibe but they really hit the button with ‘A Waltz In A Different Kind Of Bliss’ and ‘All Love Lost’.

The band have already supported Pete Doherty, Dodgy, and Bush in Holland this summer, and are working on their debut album.  If this standard is maintained, definitely one to watch.  ****
