PICTUREHOUSE – Some Night She Will Be Mine

PictureHouse release another single of their rather good comeback album ‘Evolution’. They have already released two singles off the album, ‘Rules of Science’ (which garnered airplay on BBC Radio 2) and ‘Hello’. This song is a three minute shot of pop bliss, lovely harmonies and a chorus that you start humming along with after just one listen. Do yourself a favour grab a listen to this and then get their album, it is power pop/pop rock at its best.

BLINK – Cello

Not to be confused with US pop punk band Blink 182, Irish based indie band Blink have had their own share of success with top 10 singles and hit albums in the US. They are back with a comeback show in The Button Factory on October 25th to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their album ‘A Map of the Universe’ and a greatest hits compilation entitled ‘Catch That Moment’ out on October 24th.

This single ‘Cello’ is a remastered version of the original and is released ahead of the greatest hist compilation. I must admit not a name I have heard before, Blink are a band I will be investigating further as this single is top draw. Of course it features a cello/strings arrangement backed by lush electronica and ethereal vocals. Grab a listen here:
