Every year the reviewers at Get Ready to ROCK! choose their Top Albums and Live Acts. Their selection covers a range of genres from rock to blues and progressive and reflects the musical spread of the well-respected website.
The reviewers voted Thunder and ‘Wonder Days’ their Top Album, with southern rock revivalists Blackberry Smoke close runners-up with ‘Holding All The Roses’.
Soulful rockers Vintage Trouble topped the live act poll closely followed by The Tubes who celebrated the 30th anniversary of their debut album with a UK tour in the summer.
From 7 December, readers and listeners can vote for their favourites (including any artist or album not featured in the reviewer list) and enter a prize draw to win a selection of 2015 albums.
The ‘Best of 2015′ has been a regular end-of-year feature since 2003 and the various choices and comments build into a useful reference library for any particular year.
Throughout December, Get Ready to ROCK! Radio will be featuring ‘Best of’ selections throughout their playlists and on 27 December a two-hour show will cover the reviewer, reader and listener choices.
On Sunday 28 July 2019, David Randall celebrated his 600th show. “Assume The Position” started in June 2007 on UK City Radio before transferring a year later to Get Ready to ROCK! Radio. The show includes tracks played on the first show plus Upton Blues Festival highlights, new music and the regular features “Live Legends” and “Anniversary Rock” which this week celebrates the Island Records label 60th anniversary.
