King Crimson release a 26-disc set, ‘The Complete 1969 Recordings’, through Panegyric on October 23. It features a brand new Dolby Atmos mix by Steven Wilson of the band’s 1969 debut album ‘In The Court of the Crimson King’, and includes 6 CDs’ worth of session material on CD & Blu-Ray for the first time.

Broken Teeth plan to release a live CD/DVD entitled Evil In The Queue‘ later this year.

Neil Young (pictured above) releases a digital only EP ‘The Times’ through Amazon Music on September 18.

Former Black Sabbath singer Tony Martin’s solo album will be called ‘Thorns’ and released by Dark Star Records (Americas) and Battlegod Productions (ROTW).

John 5 And The Creatures release ‘Live Invasion’ on CD & DVD on September 4.

To celebrate its 40th anniversary, Chrysalis Records are reissuing Ultravox’s ‘Vienna’ on October 9 as a six-disc set featuring the original album, a 2020 Steven Wilson Stereo Mix, rarities, and a live concert from St. Albans. The box will also feature new sleevenotes by all four band members.

Sanctuary will release a 30th anniversary edition of ‘Into The Mirror Black’ on October 9.

Vain are currently working on a new album.

The Flower Kings release a double album ‘Islands’ on October 30 via Inside Out.

Greg Lake has a career-encompassing anthology released through BMG on October 23 entitled The Anthology – A Musical Journey‘.

Five Finger Death Punch will be releasing their best of ‘A Decade Of Destruction – Volume 2′ via Better Noise Music on October 16.

Def Leppard release ‘Hysteria At The O2′ and ‘Hits Vegas: Live At Planet Hollywood’ on Eagle Rock on October 16.

American Tears, who feature original member Mark Mangold, release their new album ‘Free Angel Express’, through Deko Entertainment on October 23.

Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band release their new album ‘Letter To You’ on October 23.

Pink Floyd’sA Delicate Sound Of Thunder’ gets a cinematic release next month on October 16, followed by a four disc box set released on November 20.

Frost* release 8-disc artbook anthology ’13 Winters‘ in November which will be limited to 3,000 copies.

The Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band will be releasing their first ever live concert video ‘Straight To You: Live’ on 27 November via Provogue.

WinterStorm at Troon has moved to 26/27 November 2021. The full line-up will be announced at the end of January.

Glastonbury is still scheduled to go ahead in June next year, despite some reports saying an autumn date was being considered.

HRH Prog has been moved to 4 (London) & 5 (Sheffield) September 2021.

Neil Peart will be honoured with a tribute concert featuring Mike Portnoy, Carl Palmer, Stewart Copeland, Taylor Hawkins, Chad Smith and more. The tribute event, which is part of this year’s Modern Drummer Festival, will stream live at midnight UK time Saturday 12 September (8pm EST) and will be hosted by LiveXLive Media. The concert will be available to view until December.

Other Stuff

Around 64% of professional musicians are thinking of quitting music as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, according to a new survey carried out by British booking organization Encore Musicians. It concluded that artists had lost an average of £11,300 in income each with 87% fewer gigs booked for Aug – Dec 2020 than same period in 2019.

Judas Priest release a 648 page book ‘Judas Priest – 50 Heavy Metal Years’ in December as part of the band’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

Quiet Riot have announced they will continue to tour despite the recent death of drummer Frankie Banali.

Vega have added drummer Pete Newdeck (Midnite City, Tainted Nation) and former Inglorious guitarist Billy Taylor to their line-up. The band are planning live dates for 2021.

Anathema have announced they are going on indefinite hiatus citing the “hardest of times” and each band member will “pursue other paths in life”.
