News - Album News

Uriah Heep have announced they will start work on their next studio album in February.

Overkill are currently ‘hard at work’ on their next album.

Slade release a new best of, a double CD entitled ‘Cum On Feel The Hitz’ on September 25.

Manowar are working on the ‘Final Battle II’ EP.

Jon Gomm releases his latest album ‘The Faintest Idea’ through KScope on October 16.

When Rivers Meet release their debut album on 20 November.

Devin Townsend has revealed on his Twitter that he is working on a “weird” album called ‘Lightwork’.

Colosseum have five archive ‘bootleg’ live concert CDs released through Repertoire Records on August 28.

Winger are currently at work on their next album.

Steve Hackett releases ‘Selling England By The Pound & Spectral Mornings: Live At Hammersmith’ on 25 September on Inside Out. The 2CD/DVD live recording is taken from last year’s UK tour.

The Pretty Things have released a new single ‘Bright As Blood’ from their upcoming album ‘Bare As Bone, Bright As Blood’ out on 25 September through Madfish Music. An entirely acoustic album, which the band had been working on right up until the sudden and tragic passing of Phil May in May this year.

Black Stone Cherry release their latest album, ‘Human Condition’, on October 30 via the Mascot Label Group.

Michael Schenker (pictured above) is currently in the final stages of recording a brand new MSG album, ‘Immortal’, which is set to be released on Nuclear Blast on January 8 2021.

Journey plan to release a new single by early next month.

Katrina & The Waves release their latest album Hearts, Loves & Babys’ on 28 August.

Armored Saint release their new album ‘Punching The Sky’, which is due on October 23 through Metal Blade Records.

King King have moved the release of their new album ‘Maverick’ back to November 6.

Bad Penny features former Journey singer Steve AugeriQueensryche frontman Todd La TorreBlue Oyster Cult’s rhythm section – bassist Danny Miranda, drummer Jules Radino, and guitarist/project mastermind Mike Holtzman. They have released one song, ‘Voices In My Head’ and another new song ‘Lose Myself’ is released on September 1.

Devin Townsend will release ‘Order Of Magnitude – Empath Live Volume 1′ on October 23 on Inside Out.

A film on the life of Phil Lynott ‘Songs For While I’m Away’, is released in cinemas this autumn, along with a box set, ‘Rock Legnds celebrating 50 years of Thin Lizzy spread across 6CD/DVD and out on UMC on October 23.

Queen + Adam Lambert will release ‘Live Around the World’ on  October 2. It’s their first full-length album together.

Threshold have started work on their next album, which the band plan to release next year on Nuclear Blast.

Toto’s Steve Lukather plans to release his new solo album in February.

Download will take place next year betwee June 4-6. Headliners are Kiss, System Of A Down and Biffy Clyro. Other bands confirmed include Korn, Deftones, The Darkness, Mastodon, Killswitch Engage, Myles Kennedy & Company, Lacuna Coil, The Wildhearts, Airbourne, Steel Panther, Volbeat, Bush, Gojira, Funeral For A Friend and Sepultura.

The Struts, Night Ranger and Steel Panther all have their own headline drive-in shows planned for this month in the US.

Call of the Wild festival has rescheduled for the second time this year and will now take place between May 20-23 2021 at the Lincolnshire Showground.

Other Stuff

The UK government have postponed live indoor events resuming for a further fortnight and they can now commence on 15 August, although many venues will remain closed as they are unable to operate at such reduced capacities.

‘Biography: The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne’ is due to premiere on the US TV network A&E on September 7.

The Clash and Nirvana are amongst the latest artists to get jigsaws (or ‘rocksaws’ as they are known) produced featuring their classic album covers.

Jon Anderson has said in a recent interview he would love for all the surviving members of Yes to reunite for a concert one day.

The Rolling Stones are set to open an exclusive flagship store on 9 September on Carnaby Street. The shop will be called RS No. 9 Carnaby.
