I was simply stating the fact that the reviewer believed that "No Such Thing" was a new song. I quoted the YouTube video as it clearly shows how popular the song is, highlighting the lack of research put into this review. I believe the reviewer should have had a look at the set list before slagging off the audience.

As for the audience "barely responding" to John's guitar solos, most people around me were in awe of his technical ability and listening to every solo rather than yelling over them. I had a great evening and it's a shame how frustrated you were over the audience rather than enjoying the concert.

The thing that was also priceless was the fact that most of the arena audience managed miss a killer solo he played about 20 minutes later....or rather they barely repsonded to it. Then again when a crowd like that is more captivated by a dancing bear on the screen above, rather than the band jamming brilliantly, then you have to throw your hands in the air and say, yep that's entertainment!
Your comment about 10 million views is a measure of John Mayer's popularity not the reaction of the cowd on the night.

"At first I thought it was me being out of step with modernity, but no, there’s a priceless moment when Mayer straps on an acoustic, strums a few opening chords and the crowd goes absolutely crazy, before he later tell us it’s a new song!"

I think you'll find that "New song" is actually:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1W2UddURXI

With nearly 10 million views it's no wonder the crowd cheered for it, not so priceless then
