SAVAGE MESSIAH ‘Plague of Conscience’
Savage Messiah is an English outfit producing metal that grabs one’s attention. This is the band’s third release and has been available for free download on Earache’s web page.
The artwork belies the true nature of the band’s music: while well done, there’s a disturbing element to the image portrayed, which is not present in the music. Dave Silver sings cleanly and with a good vocal range, while the music ranges from thrash to power to progressive – without losing the melodic quality to it. There are some excellent songs on display here, with wailing guitar solos to boot, with influences of Judas Priest, Megadeth and Iron Maiden shining through in places.
A fine metal album worthy of your attention.
