This album has been a long time in the making. The band released their debut ‘In The City Tonight’ back in 2004 and the seeds of this album were sown way back in 2006, it has been time well spent though.
Boyjazz ( not the best of names guys ) master in classic ‘70’s tinged hard rock, in fact to narrow it down even further they could pass as a young Judas Priest no problem. Adam Hobbs’ vocals in particular sound very like a young Rob Halford, which is no bad thing in my book. The twin guitar delivery is also impressive with some inventive lead passages and melodic riffing, maybe not quite Tipton and Downing, but fine none the less.
Over the 10 tracks there is a lot to like with the highlights being ‘Women Come To Man’ and the subtle ‘Pocket Unicorn’ but all are well worth a spin and highly impressive. It may have taken a while for this album to see the light of day but it should hopefully do well enough to keep things ticking over for the next couple of years, it certainly deserves to.
