Quick plays: WHITE WIDDOW, ARENA
WHITE WIDDOW Silhouette AOR Heaven [Release date 28.10.16]
White Widdow return with album number four and they carry on where their last album, ‘Crossfire’, left off, with lots of catchy and hook filled AOR tunes – ‘Stranded’ and ‘Smile For The Camera’ on here are instant (fluffy) punches of AOR.
They really nail that classic mid-80′s AOR/melodic rock sound and that can be their undoing at times as ‘Wild At Heart’ sounds over familiar. Mind you on ‘Living For The Night’ it sounds like Dave Bickler-fronted Survivor, classy stuff. In vocalist Jules Millis they have someone who’s voice soars above the music and grabs the listener.
It’s not a bad album and chances are you’ll enjoy it more if this is the first album you have heard by the band. After hearing all their albums to date this is the one that has grabbed me least, a few too many fillers I am afraid. ***

Not to be confused with the long standing prog rock band of the same name, this Arena hail from Minnesota and consist of Tedd Bullock (bass/vocals), Linda Bullock (vocals), Billy Wesp (drums) and Tim Kletti (guitar/vocals).
Arena play standard hard rock and vocalist Linda Bullock has a good, strong vocal and the band are no musical slouches. The songs are okay, but being honest this is the sort of band best seen live and indeed as they have been going over a decade, they seem to have built up a good reputation in their local area. ***
