Single review : HARDCORE SUPERSTAR – Halo

Once you realise that what they present is an act and not a lifestyle, you readily accept that Hardcore Superstar is a shit hot little band.

Like so many Glam/ Sleaze/ Street Metal bands, it’s theatre. But HS deliver the goods. The music underpins the look, not the other way around.

Their imminent Scandi tour is branded “The Dirty Halo Tour”.
And the heavily melodic ‘Halo’, an in your face hard rock anthem, goes with the branding.

It’s part Crüe swagger, part Backyard Babies bite, finished off with a welcome blitz of Hanoi Rocks attitood, all assembled with style, invention and a well honed cutting edge.

And it comes with a message too… “I take my pills with holy water, say my prayers and wash them down, baptised in sin and disorder”.

You can’t say much better than that, other than to add that hopefully the new album – on which they are currently working, titled Abrakadabra – maintains this teaser’s standard.
