Despite being well into her 60’s Cher is still instantly recognised as one of the most famous female singers of all time. From her big 1960’s hits with ex-husband Sonny Bono to massive solo success in both music and film, she has sold over 100 million albums and is one of the few people to have hit records in 6 consecutive decades, whilst constantly re-inventing herself along the way.
Daryl Easlea and Eddi Fiegel’s new Cher biography “All I Really Want To Do” does tend to almost feel like a review of her career at times, although to someone who does not know a great deal about her this may not be a bad thing. If there are any revelations or not I cannot tell you as I do not know much about Cher other than the big hits and jokes about plastic surgery.
The discography, photos and general feel of the book are what you would expect from Backbeat but if you are a big fan of Cher and are looking to discover something you haven’t already come across, then this may not be the read for you.
