Fearless Vampire Killers release their new album

On the eve of their debut album release, Fearless Vampire Killers have received one of the biggest accolades that a troupe of fresh-faced British rockers could hope for, a nomination in the Best British Newcomer category at the Kerrang! Awards 2012. They’ll be battling for victory against While She Sleeps, Yashin, Don Broco and Hawk Eyes, a strong category in which they hold their own with gothic, steampunk styling and punk-rock-death-pop sounds.

Militia of The Lost will be released digitally on Monday with the physical release following a week later on May 14th. The album has already received some incredible support from the UK media including a 4 K review in this week’s Kerrang! magazine, which punches to the very core of what Fearless Vampires Killers are all about; musical substance that runs deep beneath the surface of a theatrical facade.

This debut album has drawn comparisons to such a diverse range of artists – My Chemical Romance, Avenge Seven Fold, Elliot Minor, Green Day, Coheed & Cambria, Panic At The Disco, Aiden, Elton John and Queen – this alone should be enough to convince the curious to go out and invest in a copy.

From the 26th of May you can catch FVK live at venues around the UK as they head out as the lead support on William Control’s UK tour.  Download festival ticket holders will also get the chance to see their stage show in full festival mode on the Red Bull Bedroom Jam stage on Saturday June 9th.

Next Friday, the band will be putting down their crucifixes and donning their shin pads to take part in the rock and metal version of the re-launched Soccer Six at Leyton Orient Football Club. The event raises money for the Music For All charity and sees them face off against bands like You Me At Six, Bring Me The Horizon and Architects on the football pitch.

Militia Of The Lost is released digitally on May 7th and physically on May 14th through Goremount Records (via PIAS).

‘They may as well have potentially massive cult tattooed on their foreheads’ – Kerrang!

‘This is pure rock and roll escapism in its most spectacular, exhilarating form’ - Rock Sound
