Broken Teeth’s fifth album “Devil On The Road” is a 13 song raw, dirty, high octane burst of AC/DC like rock n roll- and it’s more than welcome in my stereo.
Essentially based around the vocals of Dangerous Toys’ Jason McMaster and guitarist Jared Tuten, the two bands pretty much live in conjuncture with each other with the Broken Teeth seemingly the busier. The album’s title track, and first single, “Devil On The Road” features the last recorded performance from bass player Travis Weiss who sadly passed away shortly after. That track has an almost bluesy feel to it and shows that Broken Teeth are more than one dimensional.
“Viva La Rock Fantastico” is a great bit of rock n roll nonsense, but it is the likes of “Stick It In”, “Bullet”, “Blackheart” and “Spitting Nails” that you will no doubt want to turn right up.
“Devil On The Road” is a good, solid rock n roll record and the band can feel very proud of that. With their no compromise attitude and a fan base which includes the likes of Danko Jones and Ginger Wildheart, I look forward to the next Broken Teeth album.
