SHY – Shy

It’s taken me some time to get to listen to this and the first thing that comes to mind is what took me so long?!  This is Shy’s reunion album after a six year hiatus…

As it transpires, the album, special as it is, provides extra meaning for fans of the band as guitarist Steve Harris passed on in 2011, making this work his last release.

Lee Small does an admirable job as vocalist and his voice is surrounded by magnificent bombast, with layers of melodic keys and guitar.  Each song is a work of art and requires many listens, as more is picked up by the ear as one devours this release.

Essential for melodic rock lovers!
