HUNDRED DAYS – Mission Exodus

The guys in Hundred Days have been treading the boards for a good number of years in a few different guises, the most successful of these being X-Teller which found moderate success around the UK. The trio though regrouped under the Hundred Days monicker a few years ago and this is their third album and it is a bit of a classic rock delight.
There is nothing groundbreaking in the band’s sound but this is good classic rock, so if it’s not broken, why fix it ? There are elements of Iron Maiden, Dio, Slash, Van Halen and many others here and the guys pull it off with ease, you can tell they are old hands at this game. The standout tracks for me are the ones that bookend the disc, opener ‘Mission Exodus’ and the closer ‘Started To End’ which are both great rock tracks. There are also a couple of covers on the album in the shape of ‘Live And Let Die’ which doesn’t quite reach Guns ‘N Roses standards and a fairly faithful version of the Huey Lewis classic ‘Power Of Love’ which works really well.
If you like classic rock and, let’s face it, who doesn’t, then this album is worth checking out. Dust off the transit guys, the UK and beyond beckon once more.
