SUPERTRAMP – Live In Paris ’79

(DVD) Eagle Vision

A touch of pomp and piano / woodwind fronted prog rock, and this show is finally available on DVD, remastered.

The French fans lap up the music, the year Supertramp released their classic Breakfast In America, and from the opening School and Bloody Well Right it’s a good show, and from the introduction of The Logical Song (a song I bet you’ll recognise even if you don’t it) it’s a good melodic performance.

There’s a long list of classic numbers, many from the album of that year, it’s well filmed (some split screen) and the sound is fantastic. But the twin piano make much of the melodies a little genteel for my own tastes.

The main show is 100 minutes, and there’s a lot of bonus material too. A classic performance that fans will enjoy,
