BAD FOR LAZARUS – My Muddle
Shit Chic ( Release Date – 7th Nov 2012)
Bad For Lazarus describe their sound as ‘Motown Hell’ a mix of Motown and Richard Hell. If it sounds confusing on paper, it doesn’t really become any clearer after a couple of listens. Off kilter pop rock is the best way to describe the band’s output and it is certainly original, although there is a whiff of B52’S about it. Not too bad then although I don’t think I will rush back for more.

LIMOZINE – Tokyo 1970
Beat Atlas Records (Release Date – 19th Nov 2012)
This is the first single to be released from Limozine’s forthcoming album ‘You’ve Been Limozined’ due for release in May 2013. ‘Tokyo 1970’ is a Stooges like, garage rock number filled with raw attitude. The sound is nothing new, but it is well executed with plenty of energy. Worth a listen.

THE RETROSPECTIVES – Room With No View
Self Release (Release Date – Out Now)
How retrospective can a band comprised of 18 year olds get ? This is the band’s first EP and it is a fairly standard indie pop affair. There is nothing particularly bad here but ultimately there is nothing outstanding either. The guys are touring at the moment so perhaps the live experience will help them find their feet and develop their own sound, they most definitely have time on their side.

THE BURNING OF ROME – Cowboys & Cut Cigars
Surfdog Records (Release Date – Out Now)
This single is the first track to be released from the band’s album ‘With Us’ due for release early next year. ‘Cowboys & Cut Cigars’ is reminiscent of Marilyn Manson with a chugging riff, heavy drums and bass and is a decent track. The album may well be worth investigating when released, until then this will do to be going on with.
