Debut album from this young band featuring Lawrence Case (vocals), Nick Brown (guitar), Meryl Hamilton (guitar), Ash Moulton (bass) and Matt Jolly (drums) and they have highly rated producer Pedro Ferreira (Therapy?/The Darkness). The album is neatly presented as well with comic book artist Jim Boswell lending a hand. They have also been busy on the live front supporting the Wildhearts, Fozzy and Uriah Heep amongst others. But what of the music? Well vocalist Lawrence Case has a touch of the Axl Rose about him and certainly packs a punch, check out the awesome riffing fun of ‘King Without A Crown’.
‘Bullet’ and ‘Mary Jane’ see the guitars to the forefront of two very catchy hard rock numbers. There is a little respite in the ballad ‘Lost In Confusion’, which has nice big production complete with female vocals supplied by Stevie Vann Lange and swirling strings. The title track really sums up what this band is all about, living for rock ‘n’ roll! Bit like their fans then. They keep it simple throughout keeping a tight focus on the melodies and riffs.
An enjoyable and confident debut album from a band that are definitely going places, so get in at the start.
