In this exclusive edit, Mollie Marriott chats to David Randall about the music business, the lead-in to her new album, and the current touring musical ‘All Or Nothing’ for which she provided vocal coaching. (10:27)
The full version of their chat is broadcast on Get Ready to ROCK! Radio on Sunday 1 October, 22:00 GMT. Plus, Mollie chooses the music in the “Favourite Tracks from Favourite Artists” series, Monday 2 October, 16:00 GMT.
Mollie Marriott plays UK dates in November/December with Bad Touch following the release of her debut album ‘Truth Is A Wolf’.
Mollie is the daughter of Small Faces and Humble Pie-frontman, the late Steve Marriott and step-daughter of Joe Brown who had several chart hits in the 1960s.
Mollie’s album features guest appearances from Paul Weller, with whom she toured earlier this year, and collaborations with various songwriters including Judie Tzuke.
Get Ready to ROCK!’s Andy Nathan, reviewing her showcase gig at London’s Borderline, described Mollie’s music: “Mollie and her band’s style mixes rock, blues and soul influences from the classic period yet they also sounded fresh and not dated.” Features Editor Pete Feenstra describes “some heartfelt songs that move from the reflective to the self empowering and always aim to emphasize lyrical meaning”.
In an hour special on Sunday 1 October (22:00 GMT) on Get Ready to ROCK! Radio she chats to David Randall about her music including tracks from the album. The following day, Monday 2 October (16:00 GMT), Mollie’s selection appears in our ‘Favourite Tracks from Favourite Artists’ series.
