Hawklords release a new live album ‘Hawklords Alive’ on May 29.

Marillion have started work on a new album during the current lockdown and are posting regular updates on their social media.

Pattern-Seeking Animals (who feature current and former members of Spock’s Beard) release their second album, ‘Prehensile Tales’, through InsideOutMusic on May 15.

Tuk Smith & the Restless Hearts have released a three song EP ‘What Kind Of Love’, with part of the proceeds going to charity.

The ‘Pumpkins United’ line-up of Helloween are currently working on the vocals for their upcoming album.

Devin Townsend has announced the release of ‘Empath – The Ultimate Edition’ on 5 June via InsideOutMusic. It includes the original record and bonus material/live performances across 2 CDs and 2 Blu-Ray discs.

Styx drummer Todd Sucherman will release his solo album ‘Last Flight Home’ on May 2.

Carcass have announced that their new album, ‘Torn Arteries’, will be delayed from its current planned release date of August 7 due to the current pandemic.

Haken release their new album ‘Virus’ on June 5 through Inside Out.

Champlin Williams Friestedt (CWF) release their new album ‘II’ via Black Lodge Records.

Deep Purple have pushed back the release date of their upcoming album ‘Woosh!’ from June 12 to August 7.

The Vintage Caravan have signed a worldwide deal with Napalm Records.

America have an 8-disc, 50th anniversary box set called ‘Half Century‘ released in early June.

The Quireboys (pictured) are currently re-recording their debut album as part of the 30th anniversary celebrations for that album. It is released on July 1.

Galahad guitarist Lee Abraham has released a new song ‘Swagger’ under the banner of Echo Rain, his new side-project. A debut EP ‘Western Skies’ is released on Gravity Dream Music on July 3.

Jizzy Pearl’s Love/Hate have signed with Golden Robot Records and plan to release new music later on this year.

Jeff Scott Soto has completed work on his new solo album, ‘Wide Awake (In My Dreamland)’, which has been co-written and produced by Alessandro Del Vecchio, for a release later this year on Frontiers. He has just released ‘Live at the Frontiers Festival’ as a digital only release on the same label.

Bon Jovi have delayed the release of their new album ’2020′ from May and have also postponed their upcoming summer US your with Bryan Adams.

Milan Polak releases his latest album, ‘You Can’t Please Everyone’, on May 10 via Lion Music.

The Pretty Reckless will release their upcoming album, Death By Rock And Roll’, later this year through Century Media.

Brother Firetribe release their new album ‘Feel The Fire’ on Sep 18 on Frontiers.

The Psychadelic Furs have pushed back their new album release date to July 31.

Hall & Oates are working on a new album which sees Darryl Hall collaborating with producer Jett Rebel.

Steve Wilson has postponed the release of his new album ‘The Future Bites’ until January 2021.

Passion have released a four song, digital only covers EP via Frontiers.

Dion releases a new album ‘Blues With Friends’ on June 5. Guests include Bruce Springtseen, Billy Gibbons and Jeff Beck.

Gypsy Lee Pistolero and Gypsy Pistoleros have signed with Golden Robot/Riot Records, who release a best of from the band in the summer and a new studio album, ‘The Mescalito Vampires’, early next year.

Within Temptation release a new single, ‘Entertain You’, on May 8.

News - Tours and Gigs

Queen have  rescheduled their UK and European dates to next year. Brian May says: “We’re very sad to announce the postponement of our summer shows in Europe, although, in the present crazy state of the world, it cannot be a surprise to our fans.”

Tyketto (although they have announced UK dates for next March) and Godsmack have cancelled all their 2020 tour dates.

Cambridge Folk Festival is cancelled for this year and returns next summer.

This year’s BST series of concerts held in Hyde Park have been cancelled.

This year’s Wacken festival has been cancelled in line with current German government advice.

The Forest Live series of concerts in the UK this summer have been cancelled.

Aerosmith have postpponed their upcoming Las Vegas stint which was planned between late May and early June.

Bryan Adams has re-arranged his planned UK dates in May for April 2021.

The US based Rocklahoma festival has been cancelled for this year.

Fairport Convention’s Cropredy festival has been cancelled for this year. However, the same line-up will appear at next year’s festival between 12 and 14 August.

Crowded House have moved their UK June dates back to June next year.

Bon Jovi have cancelled their US summer tour where they would have been supported by Bryan Adams.

Sweden Rocks has been cancelled for 2020 and will return next June.

H.E.A.T. replace Tyketto on this August’s Stonedead festival, which is still planned to take place.

Other Stuff

Elton John’s Living Room Concert for America has raised in the region of $8m.

Europe are planning to film a documentary on the band.

Dee Snider is finishing work on his first novel.

The Darker My Horizon release thier new single ‘Carpe Diem’ on April 24 and all proceeds from streaming will be donated to the NHS Charities Together.

Cats In Space release the single ‘This Is London’ in May with part of the proceeds being donated to the NHS Charities Together.

Bassist and co-founder Rick Newman has left the Treatment.

Guitarist Micky Crystal has left Tygers Of Pan Tang.

Vocalist Sy Keeler has left Onslaught.

Record Store Day has been postponed again from June 20. Instead a list will be available from independent record shops on one of the three following “RSD drop dates” – Saturday August 29, Saturday September 26 and Saturday October 24.

Ronan O’Rahilly, founder of pop pirate radio station Radio Caroline, has died aged 79.  He had suffered vascular dementia since 2013.
