Tricia Duffy, aka Little Lore, is back with a new EP, with the follow-up EP, ‘Seven Stories part two’, due out in February next year. A CD version, featuring all seven songs from both parts one and two, will also be released in February.
Little Lore again works with producer and multi-instrumentalist Oli Deakin on these new songs. Deakin certainly adds a lush sound to the songs, none more so than on ‘The Bench’, where the piano and gentle guitar refrains work perfectly to highlight Little Lore’s vocals.
‘Sebastian Says’ is a rollicking slice of Americana, which Little Lore says is about “…imposter syndrome and the inner critic”. ‘Running On Empty’ continues her lyrical theme of highlighting the effects of climate change, albeit in a non-preachy manner.
‘Stolen Glances’ is a thought provoking one as the song’s narrator is trying to make sense of movement and observation whilst on a long journey. Again, Little Lore’s vocals give the song that extra bit of sparkle.
Eagerly awaiting the second instalment of ‘Seven Stories’, Little Lore again proves she has a real talent, both lyrically and vocally. A big step up from her 2021 EP, an artist on the up and up. ****
