Two Sides Moon/SLW 2012
All But Impossible are a young trio, not sure what their average age is, but if their picture is anything to go by they would still qualify for a half fare on a bus. This fact is quite surprising when you hear them play as they are a talented bunch. Songs like ’Freedom Ahead’ and ’ Picture In Your Mind’ are excellent rock songs with a decidedly prog edge. All tracks have a lot going on and the lead guitar work of Cody Ryan is exceptional throughout, whether in full solo mode or on the slower acoustic passages spread through the disc.
Highlight of the album for me was ’ Open Ends’ which features a memorable riff, great harmonies and an excellent chorus, any plans to release this as a single guys ?? There are a few weaknesses though, the vocals are a bit lost at times when Justin Volpe sings in his lower range and there are a few chord changes which jar a bit, but these are minor gripes.
This band, one would suspect, can only improve with age and with setting this standard so early in their career success should be a distinct possibility.
