Two Sides Moon/SLW 2012
Melodic rockers, Already Gone, cite influences from The Eagles to Avenged Sevenfold on this their debut album and I can hear what they mean. Frontman Luke Maskery once appeared on Stars In Their Eyes and it doesn’t state who he was as he entered through the smoke, but if I was a betting man, my money would be on John Bon Jovi ( it was probably George Formby though, hence the reason I don’t gamble ! ).
The band reached the international finals of the Surface Festival held in the O2 arena last year and it sounds as though it was well deserved. The band write catchy melodic rock which they play with aplomb. Guitarist Dan Nutt puts in a good performance throughout as do the rhythm section of Tim Buxton and Vikki Brown.
Songs like ‘ What Does It Take’, ‘In Your Arms’ and ‘ Turn Away’ are well honed, melodic rock gems that would stand up well against bands that have been treading the AOR boards for years.
‘One Good Reason’ is a fine debut release, which should see an increase in their ever growing band of followers know as the AG Pink Army. Grab your pink cowboy hat and catch them live, should be an entertaining night out.
