10 Q’s with the GYPSY PISTOLEROS

Vocalist Lee Pistolero answers the Q’s…seriouslsy do check this band out as they are unique and define good time rock ‘n’ roll…

1. What are you currently up to?

Hi Jason amigo. We are currently sorting out the final 16 tracks to record for the next album out 2013! We play Rocklahoma US headlining the AEG Hard Rock Stage midnight 26th May after Rob Zombie on the main ( Our 6th year), there is a 26 date Mexican & Latin American Tour planned for Oct, afew Festivals. But 2013 is the big year!!!! The new album is gonna be something else! The cover of ‘No Doubt- Dont Speak’ is ridiculously supreme!

2. How come you are releasing a greatest hits collection so early into the band’s career?

‘Greatest Hits tag’ was tongue in cheek, but it is a full stop on the last 5 years, our first release  on http://www.heavymetalrecords.com & its a fukkin great album! It is the latin ‘Appetite For Destruction’. Put it up against the Black Veil Brides album bro, which one wins? All about the songs!

3. Whose idea was it to do the inspired cover of the Ricky Martin hit ‘Livin’ La Vida Loca’?

Mine! Everyone said it was fukkin stupid, i disagreed. I made them do it, they all love it now. I am a visionary! lol

4. What have been the live highlights for the band and who have you enjoyed touring with the most?

All 5 Rocklahoma Festivals. Adlers Appetite was a great first Tour in 2006 ,Headlining The Whisky A Go Go for our LA debut in 09. The weird happenings, like washing our hair in a mountain stream just past the French border on tour, sleeping under the wrong van in Barcelona after supporting Faster Pussycat and not being able to remember my own name when picked up by the police, streaking along the Berlin wall on the L.A Guns Tour, waking up in a deserted tent in Rocklahoma two years running (not remembering anything), having John Corabi ( Ex Motley Crue) acting as our waiter when we toured with Ratt, trying to sell Jeremy Guns in a Hamburg brothel, waking up in a stolen car in a trailer park in Texas. Our first ever hometown gig ( Worcester) after returning from US for the first time, selling out the club with 200 people outside & a manic, brilliant gig was SPECIAL! All of it !!! We’re still alive, we’re here, we have a fukking brilliant album out next Monday! The highlights are yet to come, we havent even started yet bro

5. What sort of treats have you got in store for the album launch party in April?

We already know that we are gonna have problems as the sacred Rock N Roll shrine that is the St.Moritz ( Soho) will not be able to hold the people coming. We are gonna play it backline only, REAL. Back to the old style no bullshit gigs, a sweatbox tunnel! & We’ll play 3 times if we need to , so people can all see us. We have Burlesque girls, strippiers, pole dancers & afew tocken midgets. Its just gonna be a Soho fukked up Rock N Roll extravaganza!

6. How did the band hook-up with Heavy Metal Records?

Well the Stone Roses destroyed the offices & paint stripped the Bentley & then went on to great things, so we thought we would follow the blueprint! Iggie was signed to HMR/Revolver in the 8o’s & seeing as Paul Birch is still the Devil incarnate. We thought , what a perfect f$$ked up match

7. Any good rock ‘n’ roll tales to tell…

Too fukkin many bro. We would be locked up ( Seriously, we would) In Budapest with LA GUNS, i was!

8. Has the internet helped you get your music out there or has it in some ways hindered it by websites offering free downloads? Do you still rely heavily on CD sales as opposed to downloads?

No idea! We are still up against the Corporate Planet owning whore. BVB suck, our album pisses all over theirs & ‘Saints of Los Angeles’. But who really gives a fukk? $$ Talks!!! Thank fukk for people like yourselves, unbought, independent. Can actually print what you want

 9. What do you enjoy doing in your time away from music?

There never is time away from music, live is a drug, the next great song is a drug. An addict tries distractions, fukk i even ran a Kung Fu schol? But we’re Rock N Roll junkies! So we’re fukked when we’re away from the circus!

Anything else to add and a message for your fans…

Love them, we dont have fans. We have a f$$ked up, disfunctional family!

Thanks for making this band. Now everyone go & buy the Latin equivalent of ‘Appetite for Destruction!’ Forever Wild, Beautiful and Damned by GYPSY PISTOLEROS! And prove that sheep are deaf as fukk!

Love ya’s & thank you Jason, for giving us a voice bandido . A final note,  Always “Hang The Fukkers High!”
