Lion Music has remastered and reissued the Swedish guitar virtuoso’s fourth studio album, originally released in 1998.

Upon a few listens, it’s understandable why it has been re-released: it’s a remarkable album very much in the vein of Yngwie’s “Odyssey”…only ten years later. Bjorn Lodin does a great job on vocals, with his gritty style adding another dimension to the melodic songs on offer. One can distinguish a lot of mid-80’s Yngwie influence (without the shredding), as well as some Deep Purple tones in the mix. It is the progression in some of the songs to tilt them out of kilter that may have prevented this work from being more well-known.

Still worth investigating, though.
