“…this Power/Folk/Rock hits a chord. Think of an English Hayseed Dixie/Hugh Cornwell cross smashed in the face with a tiny bit of Zeppelin then you’re kind of close”

Steel Threads are an English ‘Power-Folk’ band, blending their love of Rock, Folk and Acoustic music. Formed in July 2011, after years in the making, the band consists of Neil Wardleworth on Guitar and Vocals, Stuart Eastham on Double Bass and Cliff Woodworth on Fiddle.

All three members are heavily involved in the music industry, and have years of experience, resulting in powerful and engaging live performances.

Coventry-based, but with the individual members’ original roots in North West England, the band influenced primarily by artists such as The Waterboys, The Levellers, Led Zeppelin, Neil Young, REM and Crowded House, the band pride themselves on strong song writing and genuine musicianship

Between them, Steel Threads have had the pleasure of working with other artists such as New Model Army, The South, Hugh Cornwell, Imelda May, Peter Green, Twisted Wheel and many more, and are thankful these influences have made the band what it is.

” Sometimes you get asked to listen to something and your heart sinks, Oh don’t ask me to give you an opinion! Especially when a friend asks. So imagine the complete joy when you actually hear something worth the listen….. what I found was simply great! I don’t usually gush over music, but this Power/folk/Rock hits a chord. Think of an English Hayseed Dixie/Hugh Cornwell cross smashed in the face with a tiny bit of Zeppelin then you’re kind of close. Great country folk sound that does indeed get your feet a tappin’ and your beer arm raised. I for one will be joining them on the “Proper Boozer” tour and you should too. Loved It” (Sam H – www.roarrock.co.uk )

“I like their sound, a very good product, the ‘Steel Threads’ track needs to be longer!  Loving the use of fiddles, a lot of bands are turning to the folk side of things as rock isn’t getting the recognition that it used to, and these guys do it so well!”
