This is the second box set release in what I hope is going to be an on-going series. As with the first which was a Motorhead collection, the premise is to bring together 6 classic albums from the respective artists and release them at a budget price.
This Lizzy collection then contains some of the best moments from their career in the shape of Nightlife, Fighting, Bad Reputation, Johnny The Fox, Black Rose and Jailbreak. All albums are must haves for any rock fan, especially Jailbreak which is chock full of Phil Lynott’s finest tracks. Another personal favourite is Black Rose which has some of the best twin guitar work ever committed to record, especially on the title track, Gorham and Moore at their very best.
With the current Lizzy line up touring extensively at the moment and currently recording new material there has never been a better time to acquaint or reacquaint yourself with the Thin Lizzy back catalogue and with this keenly priced box set it has never been easier or cheaper to do so. Hell, even the Irish government could afford a copy !
