Daughtry, the band fronted by Chris Daughtry who found fame on ‘American Idol’, have a tour edition of their latest album released in time for their European dates supporting Nickelback. The fact that a lot of the songs on here sound like Nickelback will doubtless endear Daughtry to Nickelback’s fans.
There are some very strong anthems on here, the likes of ‘Renegade’ (the heaviest the band get) and the impassioned vocals on ‘Outta My Head’ are made for US modern rock radio. ‘Start Of Something Good’ with its infectious chorus reminded me of Live, whilst the bonus song of ‘Lullaby’ as the title suggests is gentle number to round off the album.
At sixteen songs long it does tend to blend into the background but there are some strong songs and its still an album you’d come back to again.
