Edge are a new band, focused around the two main members Jonas Forss (vocals/guitars/keyboards) and Tobias Andersson (guitars/keyboards), who has been in Shadowland and Seven Wishes. Fellow Shadowland band member Olle Rodehn (drums) and Torbjorn Brogen (bass) complete the line-up.
As you’d expect from the band’s they have been in this is high quality melodic rock. If the album has any drawback it is that some of the tunes don’t instantly leap out at the listener, always a key factor in this style of music. That said, ‘How Long’ is a belter from the opening keys through to the chorus and guitar solo courtesy of Tommy Denander. One other guest worth mentioning is Martina Edorff for her vocal duet on ‘Get Over It’, a nice surprise on the album. ‘I Could Never Live’ and ‘There Is No Other Way’ are prime time melodic hard rock tunes.
Solid debut although they will have their work cut out getting noticed with so many high quality new melodic rock releases out there like Love Under Cover, Rage Of Angels, Diamond Dawn and W.E.T.
