Mercurial Records ( release date – 28.01.13)
‘If I Were A God’ is the first EP release from the Scarborough based hardcore crew Horse In Transit. The band have produced 6 heavyweight, hardcore nuggets for this release which is a mix of furious guitar work, thunderous drumming and the usual ‘hardcore scream’ vocals.
However there are a couple of tracks that break from the norm and show a lighter, more melodic side to the band in the shape of ‘Chicken Run’ and ‘Survival Plan’. On these two tracks vocalist David Mitten tones things down a bit and shows he is a decent vocalist behind the screams and grunts.
On the whole though this is fairly straight forward hardcore as peddled by many others, whether a bit of melody is enough to help H.I.T rise above the rest remains to be seen.
