THE GREAT BRITISH ALTERNATIVE FESTIVAL 2013
Following the phenomenal success of last years inaugural event, another stunning line up of Punk, Ska, Mod and Alternative acts have been confirmed for this years event, held once again at BUTLINS RESORT, MINEHEAD and set across three indoor venues from FRIDAY 26th – SUNDAY 28TH APRIL
In a weekend of many highlights over three nights and two days, there is a rare performance from John Peel favourites THE FALL, as well as former Sex Pistols’ GLEN MATLOCK & THE PHILLISTINES, pop-punksters THE REZILLOS, THE BLOCKHEADS and the BRUCE FOXTON- fronted FROM THE JAM.
The remainder of the line-up includes BAD MANNERS, THE SALFORD JETS, ANTI-NOWHERE LEAGUE, RUTS DC, the NEVILLE STAPLE BAND (from The Specials), THE MEMBERS, BLACK ROOTS, EDDIE AND THE HOT RODS (fresh from their arena tour with STATUS QUO) and THE LAMBRETTAS
Taking a temporary break from the current World Tour by THE WHO comes SIMON TOWNSEND; Nine Below Zero frontman Dennis Greaves brings his ‘other’ band – THE TRUTH and its a very welcome Minehead debut for THE SELECTER featuring Pauline Black. THE MEMBERS also debut, along with JEREMIAH and THE MEN THEY COULDNT HANG.
Returning this year after typically energetic sets last year come SECRET AFFAIR and EDWARD TUDOR POLEPAN. JENIX duo return to entertain revellers with their high energy acoustic catalogue.
