Proper Records
Andy Fairweather Low has had a long and illustrious career, including playing live with Eric Clapton for many years and performing with Roger Waters. Also trivia fans the Lowriders feature sax player Nick Pentelow, who was a member of the early Wizzard line-up lead Roy Wood and just to prove how connected the music industry is, Andy Fairweather Low has also worked with Roy Wood!
The album is inspired by the influence of Stax, Atlantic Soul and early rock ‘n’ rollers like Lonnie Donegan on his music.
This is an album of medium paced rock ‘n’ rollers like ‘Dance On’, where the horns backing and guitar arrangements sound like Roy Wood’s latter day music. Then there is the laid back easy listening of ‘Deep River Blues’, a chance to show what a soothing vocal Andy Fairweather Low has. ‘Let Me Be Your Angel’ is another slow number, featuring brushed drums and silky sax, you can imagine yourself in some 1930’s cabaret bar listening to this one…
‘Roll Ya Activator’ is a sure fire single, as the chorus is instant and it’s a catchy little tune! His bluesy side comes to the fore on ‘Breakin’ Chains’, another good instant song for airplay.
An album to chill out too and kick back too, perfect when you need something different to listen to in your music collection.
