Album review: EUPHORIA AUDIO

Euphoria Audio

Euphoria Audio hail from Wakefield in Yorkshire although listening to their debut album you’d be mistaken for thinking they were a US band used to playing arenas. This is in part no doubt due to having producer Brandon Friesan involved who has produced Nickelback and Sum 41 in the past, plus the album was recorded in LA.

The band consists of Matt Shirty (vocals), Ben Lloyd (guitar), Ben Hughes (bass) and Josh Hughes (drums). The band’s current single ’3 Seconds’ is a monster of tune, perfect for those that enjoy Nickelback and Shinedown and there are many that do luckily for Euphoria Audio.

‘Your Tomorrows’ is another sure fire future single, as the band again create an insanely catchy riff and the vocals of Matt Shirty soar above it all.  Check out his vocal performance on ‘The Light’ too, chandelier shattering at times.

Just as important as the rockers are the slower songs, which the band have a couple of good ones in the shape of ‘Fly Tonight’ and the slightly more uptempo ‘Man Of Steel’. Plenty of uplifting lyrics and music on these two songs.

These boys know how to take classic melodic rock sounds (there is a whiff of Def Leppard in the guitars at times) and update them making it perfect for a younger rock crowd (and their parents as the music is very accessible). An exceedingly strong debut album and let’s hope this band go far as they deserve it based on these songs.  ****
