Blues rock singer Dana Fuchs is interviewed by Pete Feenstra for his feature show on Get Ready to ROCK! Radio, on Sunday 10 May at 19:00
Pete plays tracks from Dana’s albums ‘Songs From The Road’ and ‘Bliss Avenue’ and chats to her about her career.
Dana plays UK dates from 11 May as part of a European tour. In June, she returns to the UK for the Leadbelly Festival at the Royal Albert Hall.
In the late-1990s, Dana formed the Dana Fuchs Band with established guitarist Jon Diamond and their early gigs in New York City drew packed houses. For a time she played the lead in the Janis Joplin musical ‘Love, Janis’ which led to her role as Sadie in the highly acclaimed Beatles movie, ‘Across The Universe’.
Her debut album came out in 2003 – ‘Lonely For A Lifetime’ – fused with sixties soul and R&B, followed in 2011 by ‘Love To Beg’. Her latest studio album – ‘Bliss Avenue’ (2013) – gathered more plaudits and Pete Feenstra wrote that it contained “an emotional pull and lyrical resonance to set it apart from many other current blues-rock oriented releases.”
