EP review: KODY – Letting Go

KODY - Letting Go

www.kodyofficial.com [Release date 05.03.16]

Debut release from Kody  who wrote and produced the four songs on here, as well as playing guitar. He is joined by Cosmas Mylon on bass and Francesco Azzariti on drums.

Kody has poured a lot of his heart and soul into these four songs, have listen to ‘War Within’ that has a hint of classic Pearl Jam in it. The pick of the four songs for me is the bouncy rock of the title track.

The vocals (he is ably assisted by Hayley Coe, Sheona Urquhart and Tassadit Celia on backing vocals on this song) are superb and the guitars (guitarist Billy Crabbe guests on this one) chime in at all the right places. This one really reminded of Collective Soul, no bad thing in my book.

‘Anymore’ is a an extended blues meets soul workout, whilst ‘Tonight’ reminded starts the EP off in style with its persistent rock beat. You can tell Kody is no slouch when it comes to guitar playing as there are some truly wonderful solos on this EP.

This EP brims full of promise and I for one can’t wait to hear more from this artist. Hard to pinpoint a specific genre as he dips into many and is successful in them all. I will just call this damn fine music and well worth your time having a listen.  ****
