News: DAN REED NETWORK – new album and interview (Sunday 29 May 2016)

In this exclusive interview edit, Dan Reed chats to David Randall about ‘Fight Another Day’. (8:59) The full version of the interview is now available via Mixcloud

Dan Reed Network

The first new Dan Reed Network album for 25 years is released via Frontiers on 3 June.

The band reformed for a New Year’s Eve gig in their home town of Portland, Oregon in 2012 and from that time they have toured in the UK and played various festival gigs including Download.

The band formed in the mid-1980s and had considerable success with their first three albums.  They also toured with Bon Jovi and The Rolling Stones.  After their third album – ‘The Heat’ in 1991 – the band split and the band members pursued other musical interests.

Frontman Dan Reed owned a club in his home town for a time, toured the world including a spiritually awakening sojurn in India, and from 2008 onwards has pursued a successful, if low-key solo career.

The band undertake a short promotional tour in Europe from 4 June.

Get Ready to ROCK!’s David Randall interviewed Dan in 2009 when he was touring an acoustic show in the UK for the first time.  Says David, “I loved DRN back in the day and whilst Dan’s acoustic shows demonstrated the strength of the band’s songs we all hankered after a band reunion.  We interviewed Dan again in 2013, after the New Year reunion, when it was clear that DRN might become a more permanent reality.”

He caught up with Dan at the end of his recent acoustic tour with Tyketto frontman Danny Vaughn.  This interview forms part of an hour-long feature on Sunday 29 May at 22:00 with tracks from the new album.
