Get Ready to ROCK! favourites Albany Down release their third studio album – ‘The Outer Reach’ – on 10 June via AD Recordings.  The album will be available to pre-order from iTunes, Amazon, and from the band’s official website in the months leading up to release. Physical copies of the album will be available on CD and 180 gram vinyl.

London-based Albany Down have influences ranging from classic acts like Led Zeppelin and Thunder to modern bands such as The Black Keys and Clutch.

Albany Down are Paul Muir on vocals, guitarist Paul Turley, drummer Donna Peters and bassist Billy Dedman and they have already recorded two albums with award-winning producer Greg Haver (Manic Street Preachers, INME, Super Furry Animals).

Jason Ritchie, reviewing the latest release for Get Ready to ROCK!: “Blues rock based for the main, with enough musical diversions to keep you wanting to come back for more.”

In reviewing the band’s 2011 album, ‘Not Over Yet’ Pete Feenstra wrote that it “taps into the roots of rock’s collective consciousness to come up with something refreshingly new and exciting. Unreservedly recommended for all classic rock fans.”

The band recently chatted with Pete Feenstra for Get Ready to ROCK! Radio as part of his weekly Feature show (see exclusive edit, above).  And in 2013 the band supplied an exclusive acoustic session for the radio station’s ‘In Session’ series.

Says singer Paul Muir about ‘The Outer Reach’: “The overall concept of the album is that the songs have a “trying and failing theme” and overcoming adversity” says singer Paul Muir.  “The new album represents how far the band has come in terms of our songwriting and live performances.”
