This hour special was broadcast in the first hour of David Randall’s weekly show ‘Assume The Position’ on Sunday 18 September at 22:00 GMT on Get Ready to ROCK! Radio.
Marillion release their latest album on 23 September – ‘FEAR’ – whilst preparing for a USA tour in late-October. The band play UK dates from 27 November.
Described as their “protest” album, ‘FEAR’ still retains all the elements expected by their loyal fans. It is their eighteenth studio album and will be available as a limited edition Super Audio CD via earMUSIC.
The band’s guitarist (and longest-serving member) Steve Rothery is interviewed by David Randall for a special feature on Get Ready to ROCK! Radio on Sunday 18 September at 22:00 GMT.
Says David, “As per my early album review I had to declare that I favour the more “romantic” side of Marillion evidenced on the early Hogarth albums. However, as Steve points out, they are making music that firstly pleases themselves rather than others and so far the new offering has had a great response.”
In addition to tracks from ‘FEAR’ David will also be featuring tracks from Steve’s solo output, including his 2014 album ‘The Ghosts Of Pripyat’ and The Wishing Tree his project with vocalist Hannah Stobart which yielded two albums, in 1996 and 2009.
