Grammy-nominated Beth Hart releases her new album 14 October on Provogue/Mascot Label Group.
Los Angeles-born Beth released several albums in the 1990s but has truly blossomed in the past few years. Her previous album ‘Better Than Home’ topped the iTunes Blues Chart and was crowned #4 Best Blues Album Of The Year by Mojo magazine.
In the UK, she has headlined Royal Albert Hall and the Barbican and played historic Hampton Court Palace with Joe Bonamassa. In December 2015, she appeared in Jools Holland’s legendary annual Hootenanny.
The new album ‘Fire On The Floor’ will build on her momentum. Featuring a crack studio band that included Michael Landau (guitar), Waddy Wachtel (guitar), Brian Allen (bass), Rick Marotta (drums), Jim Cox (piano), Dean Parks (acoustic guitar) and Ivan Neville (B3 and organ) the twelve songs reflect Beth’s teenage influences, from gospel, soul and classical to the seismic rock of Soundgarden.
GRTR!’s Pete Feenstra described ‘Fire On The Floor’ as “a career defining album full of rich songcraft, heartfelt phrasing and exuberant playing shot through with total conviction and emotion.”
On Sunday 16 October in his weekly feature show on Get Ready to ROCK! Radio, Pete chats to Beth Hart with tracks from the new album. (the show is repeated on Tuesday 18 October at 21:00 GMT)
