Blues/rock guitarist Larry Miller suffered a stroke in August 2015 and is still recovering. Sadly he has been unable to play guitar since this time. To raise funds and speed his full recovery, fellow musicians and fans have organised a special evening on Saturday 5 November. This will also coincide with the launch of a new compilation album featuring his work.
Amongst those artists appearing: members of Larry’s band/Storm Warning (featuring MD Derek White), guitarists Elisha Blue (USA/Chaka Khan/Roachford)and Marcus Flynn (Brian May/ Beyoncé/ The Guitar Legends). Catfish (featuring double award winning keyboard player and Paul Jones producer Paul Long & Matt Long), Stevie Smith (harp playing leader of Ruthless Blues), guitarists Troy Redfern and Todd Sharpville (Duke Robbilard/Joe Louis Walker/Kim Wilson), Salvation Jayne and Bill Mead (founder member of Europe’s busiest R&B band The Sharpees).
Venue: Boom Boom Club/Sutton Utd FC, The Borough Sports Ground, Gander Green Lane, Sutton, Surrey SM1 2EY

On Sunday 9 October at 20:00 GMT in his weekly Feature show on Get Ready to ROCK! Radio Pete Feenstra chats to Derek White, from Larry’s band and a member of Storm Warning, with tracks from the compilation.
Larry Miller has toured extensively in the UK and Europe. He was a regular headliner at The Marquee in London and played a barnstorming set at the Reading Festival. He holds the record for the most encores at Cambridge Rock Festival.
Reviewing the festival, Get Ready to ROCK! opined: “Crowd reaction to his performance was ecstatic… Joe Bonamassa watch out, there’s another new blues hero snapping at your heels”.
In ‘Classic Rock Presents The Blues’ magazine readers poll, Larry Miller was voted number 3 behind by Joe Bonamassa and Walter Trout and an extensive feature noted: “This powerhouse blues/rocker is filling the niche left behind by Gary Moore and Rory Gallagher. The man has flair, memorable riffs, serious soloing as well as being a great blues vocalist and a consummate showman.”
