On Monday 28 November, Get Ready to ROCK! announces their Best Of 2016 selections for Top Albums and Top Live Acts.
Since 2003 the popular rock website has published an end of year round-up reflecting the reviews published throughout the year.
Managing Editor David Randall commented “The selection always reflects the diversity of our activities and the eclectic tastes of our reviewers. Frequently the more obvious artists and albums are overlooked for something a little more obscure or unfamiliar, but no less significant for that.”
The website is one of the more broadly based in terms of content and although rock and metal are significant there is also excellent coverage of the blues/blues rock, progressive, and singer songwriter genres.
Blues and Features Editor Pete Feenstra has received a double honour this year, receiving a “lifetime” achievement award in the British Blues and European Blues Awards.
Says David: “Pete works tirelessly promoting the blues and is a key player at Get Ready to ROCK! with a very popular show on our dedicated radio station. Our other expertise stretches across various genres, including melodic rock/AOR for which reviewer Andy Nathan has an unrivalled enthusiasm and knowledge.
“One of our great strengths this year has been very comprehensive coverage of UK festivals (and one or two outside the UK) always complemented by superb photography from the likes of Simon Dunkerley, Darren Griffiths, Paul Clampin, Iain Scott, Mark Hughes and Steve Goudie.”
Readers and listeners are invited to vote for their favourites from 5 December and the results of the popular poll will be announced on 18 December in a special show on Get Ready to ROCK! Radio. The Best Of selections will also be reflected in the radio programming throughout December.
The Best of 2016 is this year sponsored by German label giant earMUSIC and those voters who enter a Prize Draw will stand the chance of winning a selection of albums on the label by artists who feature in this year’s listings.
