THE LOFT CLUB Heart’s Desire
www.facebook.com/theloftclubband
The Loft Club released this EP back in October 2016 and have had big success on Spotify with a Niklas Ibach dance remix of the EP’s title track. Their sound recalls greats like the Byrds and more modern day artists like the Coral and Ryan Adams, as they do like jangly pop such as the title track and the other EP’s stand out song, ‘I’m Just A Man’. The dance remix of ‘Heart’s Desire’ adds a trippy sound to the original and works well.
The Loft Club are worthy of a listen and offer much promise based on these four songs. ***1/2

DIG DEEPER Stars Tonight
[Release date 19.05.17]
Norwegian band Dig Deeper have been around since 2o10, releasing an album ‘How You Spend Your Days’ in 2015. This new three song EP really pays homage to Neil Young, not only in the vocals but also in the laid back guitar sounds and gentle rhythm section. ‘Two Broken Fingers’ is the pick of the three songs, as the organ gives a steady background to the slow-hand guitar playing of Oystein Braut. Vocalist Einar Kaupang really does sound like a young Mr Young, carrying along each song in style.
Interesting EP and Dig Deeper certainly do as their name suggests, make you want to dig deeper into their music. ***1/2

GOODWOOD ATOMS The Place
[Release date 12.05.17] www.goodwoodatoms.com
Goodwood Atlas formed back in 2014, they hail from Vancouver and have various musicians from other Vancouver bands including Half Moon Run and Hey Ocean! joining them on this EP.
They are certainly a talented bunch of musicians creating four dreamy pop songs on here, reminding me of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! It is very easy on the ear and the vocals are soothing, the only downside is it can go to far into the background as your attention wanders elsewhere!
Those who enjoy dreamy pop music will enjoy the Goodwood Atoms as there is plenty of that on here. ***
