Frontiers [Release date 17.05.19]
“Forever Wild” is the sixth studio album from Swedish band Crazy Lixx, and could very well be their best to date. This is good, solid melodic rock n’ roll that is full of those ‘80’s style hooks and harmonies, bang on the money guitars and flourishes of keyboards.
“Forever Wild” has some slick production courtesy of vocalist Danny Rexon and Chris Laney, contains ten great songs and has elements of Bon Jovi (when they were good), Skid Row (when they were young), Def Leppard and Winger.
The album opens with the strong triple salvo of “Wicked”, “Break Out” and “Silent Thunder”, the best song title of the album though comes next with “She’s Wearing (Yesterday’s Face)”. “Love Don’t Live Here Anymore” is the albums big ballad but “Eagle” runs a close second, reminiscent of fellow Scandinavians Stage Dolls, this (along with “Break Out”) is one of my favourite tracks on the album.
This really is an album that does not know the meaning of filler, “Terminal Velocity” is up there whilst “It’s You” could have been produced by Bon Jovi at their peak. Upping the tempo we have two great songs to close the album in “Weekend Lover” and “Never Die (Forever Wild)”, leave ‘em wanting more that’s what I say!!
The album is out now and let’s hope there are some UK live dates announced soon. *****
