Cheap Trick release their new album ‘In Another World’ on April 9 via BMG.

Sweet Oblivion featuring Geoff Tate release their second album ‘Relentless’ on April 9 via Frontiers.

FM release a double live album ‘Tough It Out Live’ on April 9 via Frontiers.

Queensryche are working on their next studio album and may release a live album beforehand.

League Of Lights release their third album ‘Dreamers Don’t Come Down’ on March 12 (April 23 for vinyl) on Eightspace Records.

Jon Boden releases his new album ‘The Last Mile Home’ on March 12.

HeKz have announced a new line up, with a double concept album ‘Terra Nova’ due for a 2022 release. Founder member Matt Young has been joined by drummer Moyano el Buffalo and Pieter Beemsterboer on keyboards.

Steve Cropper releases a new solo album – which he considers his first since 1969 – on April 23 called ‘Fire It Up’.

Peter Frampton Band release an all instrumental album on April 23 called ‘Frampton Forgets His Words’.

Eric Church has released a new single ‘Heart On Fire’. The track comes from his forthcoming triple album ‘Heart & Soul.‘ The new album will be released in three parts with ‘Heart’ out on April 16, followed by ‘&’ on April 20 as a vinyl record available exclusively to Church Choir members, and finishing with ‘Soul’ on April 23.

Joe Lynn Turner is working on an album with producer and Hypocrisy/Pain frontman Peter Tägtgren.

The Pinepapple Thief release ‘The Soord Sessions: Vol 1-4′ as a deluxe hardback 4CD on April 16.

Peggy Seeger has announced what is “probably her farewell album”, ‘First Farewell’, which is released on April 9 via Red Grape Music

Levara release their self-titled debut album through Mascot Records on May 14.

Molly Karloff release their new single ‘She Said’ (Romesh Remix) on February 19. All proceeds from the single will be donated to the UK mental health charity Oxfordshire Mind.

Hardcore Superstar have signed with Golden Robot Records and plan to release a new album later this year.

Mammoth WVH release their self-titled debut album on June 11.

Neonfly release their new album ‘The Future, Tonight’ on June 18 via Noble Demon Records. They have just released a cover of Shocking Blue’s ‘Venus‘.

The Slam Dunk festival has moved from May to September.

The organisers of the Leeds & Reading festivals have said they will both be going ahead as planned in August.

Other Stuff

A new music channel The Coda Collection launches on Amazon Prime with programmes on Dave Grohl, Jimi Hendrix and the Rolling Stones planned for the early weeks of its launch.

Ronnie James Dio’s memoir ‘A Rainbow In The Dark‘ is published on July 27 and co-written with Mick Wall.

Blind Guardian frontman Hansi Kürsch has quit his long-running project Demons & Wizards which he formed with Iced Earth‘s Jon Schaffer. Hansi announced his departure two weeks after Schaffer was arrested for his involvement in the January 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.

Iced Earth vocalist Stu Block and bassist Luke Appleton have both quit the band.

Following an announcement that he has been diagnosed with ALS (a.k.a. Lou Gehrig’s disease), George Kooymans, the guitarist who co-founded Golden Earring, will retire. As a result the band are calling it a day – “This is a death blow,” said singer Barry Hay. “We always said we would keep going until one of us fell over. Our last performance appears to have been in Ahoy in 2019. That was a great show with family and friends, but we would have preferred it differently.”

Delain keyboardist Martijn Westerholt has announced that the band have split up and he would continue Delain as a solo project.

Tora Tora have parted ways with label Frontiers after releasing one album with them.

Kissin’ Dynamite founding member and drummer Andi Schnitzer has left the band.
