Album review: ALL GOOD THINGS – A Hope In Hell

ALL GOOD THINGS – A Hope In Hell

Better Noise Music [Release date 20.08.21]

All Good Things signed with Better Noise Music in 2019 and now they unleash their debut album. All Good Things consists of Dan Murphy (vocals), Andrew Bojanic (guitars, bass, vocals, keyboards, producer), Liz Hooper (bass, vocals, keyboards, producer), Miles Franco (guitars, bass, vocals), and Tim Spier (drums, vocals).

With all five members adding their vocals the band have created some epic vocal soundscapes. The press release mentions gaming and movies, both of which their songs lend themselves too perfectly being rooted in big, epic sounds.

They have already racked up over 100 million streams of ‘For The Glory’, which features a guest spot from the Hollywood Undead. Impressive, as is the song itself, with an instant hook and chorus it soon works its magic on the listener.

It’s not the only song on the album to feature a guest artist as Craig Mabbitt of Escape The Fate appears on ‘The Comeback’. Very melodic, you can see why this one has been chosen as a single.

‘Sirens’ sees the band in heavier mode as the guitars battle with the keys/synths on the main melody. Really impressed by the band’s use of sounds and vocal arrangements. ‘Do It Now’ comes in on a wave of parping horn synths, although the mid song rap from Hyro the Hero may not be for all.

In all the bombast they do bring it down a notch or two on ‘Machines’, one with plenty of effects and vocal wizardry. ‘Undefeated’ you can imagine pumping out in gyms, a proper up and at ‘em anthem.

All Good Things are certainly onto a good thing on their debut album. It will appeal to the younger, core target audience and pick up a few older fans, especially those who like a bit of Shinedown and Imagine Dragons. With plenty of live dates in the US ahead with the likes of P.O.D. the band will continue on the up and up. ****
