Five Quick Q’s: SUZI QUATRO

Suzi Quatro is celebrating her 58-year career with a show at the Royal Albert Hall on April 20th. Get Ready to ROCK! caught up with the trailblazing Queen of Rock’ n’ Roll for a quick pre-show chat…

You have a new boxset coming out on Cherry Red, can you tell us a bit about it?

Yes, it’s the first 6 albums plus unreleased tracks, a live cd from Japan and a video & DVD -excellently done, and excellent quality. Was number 1 on Amazon just on presales.

You must have a million wonderful stories from your career, if we were at a dinner party and you were sharing one anecdote – what would it be?

I was headlining a big festival in Finland, it came to the end of the show – and I was really, really, milking it…I took about 10 minutes to wave to everyone and leave the stage.. there was a monitor in front of the staircase.. and over I went.. upside down, legs kicking in the air, and my bass still attached. It went down in history as my ‘big Finish!!!! I was mortified.

What can we expect from the RAH show next week – do you have any surprises up your sleeve or special guests?  Do you get a kick out of playing such a legendary venue?

I am so looking forward to this show. Yes, there is three surprise guests. You will get your favorite hits, favorite album tracks from 1973 to 2021…I play piano, I play the drums.. and you will be thoroughly entertained – it’s what I do.

What’s next for you (after the RAH show) ?

Starting lots of postponed gigs from the last 2 years in Europe and Australia end of year.

Any message for your fans?

For the old ones -thank you for sticking with me, I would be nothing without you.. and for the new ones, welcome aboard the Quatro rock n roll train….
